Nine-tower Galleria Mall redevelopment moves forward

The developer says his biggest gripe is the timeline.

The Miami-based developer behind the planned nine-tower redevelopment of Fort Lauderdale's Galleria Mall says the project is on track but taking too long to get through approvals. Russell Galbut, managing principal and co-founder of Crescent Heights and founder of GFO Investments, spoke about the sprawling project at the Broward State of the Market conference at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood. The redevelopment would reshape one of Fort Lauderdale's landmark retail properties into a mixed-use district. Galbut acknowledged critics but said he remains committed to the project. More details from the Sun Sentinel.
